the weirdest thing

i'm not even joking. i actually experienced love at first sight today. for the first time ever. believe me. you'll know when it happens.

woahhhh.

i bought a spiderman comic to read on the way home on the train. it's annoying because it left me on a really good cliff hanger AND iron man's in it so naturally i HAVE to buy the next issue. it's bloody £2.50 though. better get saving...

lightspeed champion single launch @ 229.

so, i paid £7.50 for the ticket and £32 for the train and boy was it worth it. seriously the best gig i've ever been to. emmy the great supported lightspeed champion and they were both amazing and faris rotter and jack penate did performances. emmy knew who i was before i even said anything which was really nice. she gave me a 'tom hatred' cd which i haven't listened to and she invited me to her ep launch in august which was very nice also! oh and i met dev (lightspeed champion) and he was very nice too. and a lot taller than i imagined. he was really excited too. he was like a little boy at his own single launch. he was really funny and talked a lot to the crowd and we loved it.

i went alone to the gig and tried to make some friends there. i asked on myspace before for tips on how to make friends at a gig and most responses involved alcohol. when i got to the gig there were lots of people outside and i queued up and was like one of the first 5 to get in. then they changed the age limit to 18+ so all the kids were stuck outside and i was INSIDE having a fucking great time.

i made 5 friends at the gig by saying "i'm lonely and i have no friends" which was true and they took me in :) and i had lots of fun with them. i've so far found three of them on myspace. but yes. www.myspace.com/eddieharrisonmakesmusic.

anyway, basically it was amazing and here are a few photos from the night!!

new ep

i've decided it's going to be called 's club 7 taught me to sing'.

it's going to have 3 or 4 songs on it. all totally new songs. i really like them so i hope everyone else likes them.

great piece of advice - nobody knows better than yourself. it really works. just listen to yourself. everybody else is a dick and they don't know better =)

conversation with my mother

we were just talking then. i said it was abit inconvenient that she's a vegetarian when making lagasne that you have to share the pots of sauce between the meat and vege lasagne rather than just using it all in one.

mum: you're a cruel meat eater
eddie: well, you're annoying
mum: i'm compationate
eddie: well, you're gay

i played the childish card.

lol.

LDN Tour

I went to London for four days, all the time thinking about an amazing blog I could do about it when I got back. Making little notes in my head of what i'd say and what'd be good to include but i've forgotten it all and the most exciting thing I can remember (and that was documented in a photograph) was when we got lost and had to consult a trusty A to Z that was about 10 years old.

Disapointing

On my phone, I have 5 messages in my sent items and none in my inbox. Somebody's popular today.

Doorman

This is a conversation I had with a doorman at the pub yesturday when I was leaving to go home.

Me: Take care of yourself man and have a lovely weekend!
Doorman: Fuck off.

Tough crowd...

I'm poor

I went into Waterstones the other day to buy Pattern Palette 2 Sourcebook by Heidi Arrizabalaga and didn't think it would be that expensive but it was £20 and I didn't have enough so I had to put it back. That's a bad feeling.

And last night I went to the Duke and bought a pint of Tetleys but had to pay for it with literally a pocket full of change. It was £2.20 and I grabbed a handful of the change from out of my drainpipes and counted it out onto the bar, while the rest of the queue was looking and laughing at me being poor.

I need a job.

Oh yeah, i'm releasing a new single in the summer.

the english abroad

so yeah, a little while ago i went to see CSS at the Paradiso in Amsterdam and it was possibly the best gig i've ever been to. the holloways and tilly and the wall were supporting. the holloways were pretty good, i had a bit of banter with alfie (who has a new hat. it looks quite nice) and now we're friends. tilly and the wall were quite good but not as good as they could have been. they all had really good voices and had great stage presence but the whole thing was a bit bland. they drummed with their feet which was original.

but yes, onto the gig. i got their early, around the time the doors were supposed to open to make sure i was at the front and when i got there, there was around 20 people just hanging around outside and the doors weren't even open! and they weren't for another 15 minutes. as soon as the doors opened we all rushed through, getting our tickets torn in half and running into the main hall. i was ready for a fight. in england it's usually a scrum to the front and if you're not there in the first 30 seconds, you wont ever be. but i went in there expecting the same thing but everyone just sort of dispersed as i was stood right at the front in the middle of the stage. as the time went on, the people just came in and sort of sat around the edges in little group circles like they were having circle time in primary school. but there was me. stood at the front looking all worried but excited. there wasn't even a rush to the front when the holloways came on either so there was just me and these two rave girls stood next to me at the front and everyone sat down. i thought maybe this was how they do it on the continent but as the time went on, people started to all crowd in. nobody was moshing though. apart from this adolescent boy who was just jumping up and down on the spot. he had too much testosterone in him, CSS had started playing and lovefoxx had just come on. he obviously fancied her. he must have fantasies about her. in his pants. and in his head. i remember what i was like at that age. i had a school boy crush on rose from the pipettes. but lovefoxx is nice too. so yeah, the whole crowd was still apart from this one boy who was really pissing everyone off, rubbing his now tent-like trousers on everybody. if it was in england the whole crowd would have been moving and beating each other up. i wanted to feel like i was back home so i started moshing. this big guy shoved me and i flew into this group of people, then someone shoved this big guy and it was off! the rave was going! someone handed lovefoxx a hulahoop (but she couldn't say in english what it was) and she was off. it was an amazing atmosphere everyone now bopping about and dancing violently around each other. CSS really got the crowd going and lovefoxx didn't stop dancing all night!

i was stood right in front of her. i felt like i was turning into that adolescent boy. she's easy to fall in love with you know. you go to one of their gigs and try really hard not to. it doesn't work lol. hahaha. i just used 'lol' in a blog.

it was amazing.

afterwards, me and my sister who was also there got invited to the CSS aftershow party which was cool. i didn't really want to leave but when i got back to my hotel (which was over the road) i met the fratellis. they were staying at my hotel too. which was nice. it was good to see them. mince looked nakered though. poor man. he had a gig the next night.

I hate lying at gigs...

For instance, we went to see The Hot Puppies the other day and I shouted "we love you!" and we really didn't.

It made me feel bad so I gave them all big hugs afterwards. They were very nice.

Music is my business...maaaaaan.

I went to Rayleigh in Essex yesturday to meet up with Jason Perry. He co-wrote and produced both McFly albums and is currently running 'Medical Records' which is an offshoot of Universal Records. He'd asked me to come down as the label is looking for new acts and he really wanted to work with me after hearing the 'Trousers demo' on my myspace.

studio
We talked 'business' for a couple of hours then got to work recording a new demo for Trousers. I got to use lots of posh equipment and it was all very snazzy. It was fun too. I just sat there, and played my guitar for a few minutes, while Jason did all the work and recorded it! That's the way to do it...Then I just sang some new lyrics to it and tried different things out (including some 'woo's at the end) and backing vocals etc. It all sounds very good. I can't wait to hear it with a full compliment of instruments behind it. It's sounding sweet.

I've got to write some more songs and go back again next month to try some more things out and to work with Jason and the team again. I'm really excited and i'm looking forward to it. Who knows, might even get a single out by the end of the year. All very exciting stuff...

The 'boss'. He's a top bloke and very easy to get along and work with.

Oh, and I also used the same equipment and wee-d in the same toilet as McFly. Niiiice.

Bad Scott, naughty Scott, in your bed.

I just received a phone call from a Scottish lady who was adamant that I was called 'Scott'.

Basically, a few minutes ago the phone rang and I picked it up, as you do. And this was the conversation that took place (imagine the woman's voice has a strong Scottish accent, if you can't do a Scottish one try Jamaican or something):

"Hello?"
"Hello Scott, I'm sorry I didn't reply to your text!"
"What?"
"Sorry, but we've sorted it out now, yeah?"
"I think you've got the wrong number..."
"No I haven't! Listen to me. I'm really sorry I didn't reply but I've been so busy with things but I hope we're alright now"
"But I'm not Sco..."
"No, listen Scott! Don't be so stupid. I'm sorry ok! Whatever I did..."
"er..."

I hung up then. I guess her and Scott aren't together anymore.

Sorry Scott if you wanted it to go on forever. She didn't sound that nice anyway. Bit shouty.
